Have you ever wondered how we get the poop (castings) from the worms?
We tease & say we build 1000's of little potty chairs & potty train all the worms, but this worm harvester is much easier & does a better job!
The worm harvester (It's an oldy but a goodie.) is a trommel unit with an electric motor that turns the whole screened area.
We empty the worm bins into the left side of the trommel & as it turns, the worm castings (poop) comes through the smaller screen into totes that we place under the unit & the baby worms & cocoons (eggs) come through the bigger screen. At the far right end of the harvester we place 2 more totes that catch the full size worms & old bedding.
Everything goes back into the bin except the castings & the whole process starts again of feeding & watering the worms & in a month we harvest again.
