If you've never used worm castings before, start out by adding 1 part worm castings to 2 parts soil or 1 part worm castings to 3 parts soil.

Place additional Tbsp.--1/2 cup or more worm castings in the hole when planting,  depending on the size of the plant.

Each year add some worm castings to the soil to give the soil a boost for the new year's planting--not nearly as much as this 1st year if you did the ratio as suggested above.

WHY USE WORM CASTINGS?

   1) Retain moisture so your plants don't have to be watered as often.

   2) Make the soil just right for the best produce possible without relying totally on chemical fertilizers.

   3) Feed the soil,  which in turn feeds the plant.  Each year the soil improves & so does the harvest.

   4) Natural pesticide. Stimulate the plant to produce an enzyme called chitinase that bugs don't like when they bite into the stem or leaves of a plant,  so they go away--wow!

   5) Natural fungicide

  6) Castings will not go bad.  The castings you purchased last season & stored in the garage or storage shed are ready to be used this spring.

7) Use castings for germinating seeds now without fear of harming the baby plants.

  8) Organic gardeners are anxious to use something that has no chemicals & still gets good results.  You've come to the right place.

  9) The N-P-K of chemical fertilizers is so much higher than the analysis of worm castings that most farmers & gardeners don't think they have much value.  That's a far cry from the truth!

 10) 1000's of live microbes in worm castings as well as the natural pesticide, natural fungicide, moisture retention, & time released nutrients make worm castings well worth trying.
